Healthy TipGo on a Diet from Diet Soda! You may be saving pounds downing Diet Coke, but you could be rotting your teeth. In high doses, the soda may damage your teeth as much as methamphetamine and crack cocaine, finds a new case study in General Dentistry. The study looked at a meth addict, a cocaine addict, and someone who drank two liters of diet soda daily for 2 to 3 years.  Habitually drinking anything highly acidic or sugary will eventually erode the enamel on your teeth. Researchers at the University of Iowa soaked molars in different high-acidity drinks for 25 hours and found that Gatorade did the most damage followed by Red Bull and Coke, and then Diet Coke and apple juice. Try to limit your intake of sugary and acidic beverages, or if you can’t help yourself than drink from a straw. It’ll limit the your teeth’s exposure.
